Invitation to event: The Lyneham Commons apple foraging and apple jelly making event

When: 14 February 2015
At 9.30am foragers will meet at the entrance to the Tulip Farm on the old Federal Highway road just past the turn off to Sutton off the Federal Highway.

After those interested will gather at a members home in Lyneham (details can be supplied on request) to make apple jelly and anything else that we can see for fundraising.

All those interested in being part of this group are warmly encouraged to join us.

We would also love you help with any of the following: clean jars with lids for the jelly that we can sterilise, fruit dryer loan for the day, wax for the jelly.

  1. I’m so excited to have discovered your project! I do hope I can be involved. I have a chronic illness which limits my mobility and capacity, but I’m hugely keen on Food Forrest for Lyneham.

About wild apples, I’ve been thinking about making apple cider and cider vinegar with wild apples this season. I love to make jelly from hawthorns, so don’t think I’d use apple jelly. I tell what is great for roasts though: apple and mint jelly. It’s great for lamb or pork!
